100% FINE PREMIUM ORGANIC TURKISH COTTON
HAND MADE TOWEL CARE INSTRUCTION
Before use soak towel in cold water over night and hang to dry. This allows the cotton fibers to bloom and will condition your towel to reach its maximum absorbency.
Each machine wash will make the towel softer and more absorbent.
FOR DAILY USE
Washing in the machine at 30°. Tumble dry medium or hang to dry. Do NOT over dry. No bleach or fabric softener.
If threads snag, simply cut the thread off. This will not damage integrity of your piece.
Tip: if you ever over-dry your towels and notice a decrease in absorbency, simply repeat soaking process outlined above.
FOR STAIN REMOVAL
We recommend a solution of baking soda and vinegar rubbed on the stain before washing.
Tip: A capful of white vinegar in the wash will brighten clothes and towels without harsh chemicals!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do I need to soak my towels before using them?
Natural cotton needs to be trained to be absorbent. By soaking the towels, you are giving the cotton a jumpstart that is equivalent to repeated washings. After that, each machine wash will make them softer and more absorbent.
Why don’t I need to put fabric conditioner on the towels?
Fabric conditioners actually coat the natural fibers making them less absorbent! Your towels may smell great but over time, you are stopping the fibers from doing their work.
What should I use instead of bleach to keep white towels white?
Bleach tends to strip natural fibers of their natural oils, making them feel dry and brittle. Try using 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of baking soda in the wash instead. This is great for stain-removal as well.
Should I choose a tight or loose weave?
Although all of our towels are durable and sand resistant, tighter weave will definitely be much more sand resistant. If you will be using your towel primarily as a beach towel, we would recommend going with a tighter weave to avoid having sand get through (Stonewashed, Striped). That being said, we have many customers who buy looser weaves for the beach and find that the minimal amount of sand that goes through is not bothersome. It really just comes down to a matter of preference.
Customers who are buying their towel to be used primarily as a throw, by the pool, as a shawl or scarf tend to gravitate more towards the looser weaves due to the softer feeling and the beautifully complex patterns (Traditional, Tye Dye).
