The Leader in
UV Free Sunless Tanning

How does SunKissed Mist work?

  • SunKissed Mist is a sunless tanner. Most sunless tanning products use Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active “tanning” ingredient.  DHA is a skin safe vegetable derivative, which has been used in the cosmetic industry for over 30 years.

  • DHA interacts with the outermost, surface skin layer; producing a golden brown “just off the beach” tan. DHA reacts with the naturally occurring amino acids and keratin proteins, in the “dead” skin cells on the skin surface.  It's the way to gorgeous color without spending a minute under sun.

HOW LONG WILL MY SUNKISSED MIST TAN LAST?

  • Your SunKissed Mist tan will last approximately 5-10 days. Tan fading rate is influenced by your skins natural exfoliation rate, your pre-tan preparation, post tan care, general skin heath, and your life style.

  • With follow up applications, a person can maintain the tan indefinitely. A sunless tan is not a long term commitment, so it is great to try for the first time!

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY SUNKISSED MIST TAN?

  • Hydrated moisturized skin maintains a tan longer than dry skin. Keep your skin moisturized, and avoid long, hot showers and baths. Try to avoid excessive rubbing of the skin or weaing tight clothing that chafes at the skin.

HOW LONG DOES A SUNKISSED MIST TANNING SESSION TAKE?

  • Each session takes about ten to fifteen minutes. The application only takes 5-7 minutes with an additional 5-7 minutes for drying time. Sunless tans take less time than a real tan; you can have a tan almost immediately.
  • You don't have to start "working on your tan" weeks in advance. A sunless tan can be a spontaneous decision.

ARE SUNLESS TANNING SOLUTIONS SAFE?

  • YES! According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the most effective products available are sunless or self-tanning products that contain  Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active ingredient.

  • DHA has been used in cosmetic preparations for almost 30 years and was listed with the FDA in 1973. It is declared safe and suitable for use in cosmetics and drugs used to color the skin.  DHA is derived from glycerin (vegetable origin), which is a commonly used cosmetic and food ingredient. DHA is not absorbed into the body.

  • There have been a small number of reported minor rashes or skin irritations in people with allergies or skin sensitivities. However, DHA allergies are extremely rare.

  • Although no problems have been reported, for the peace of mind of our clients, and technicians, we do not recommend usage by pregnant women.

WILL A SUNKISSED MIST SUNLESS TAN CAUSE FRECKLES?

  • No. SunKissed Mist Tanning Solutions will not cause more freckles. In fact, in most cases, freckles and blemishes will become LESS obvious because the lighter skin areas will darken and reduce the color differential between these areas and the rest of the skin.
